The story of how wolves and humans became friends. It’s well told, feels credible, and showcases some stunning cinematography and incredible vistas. Not being a dog lover, I probably don’t relate to this movie the way its creators intended, but I can tell dog people will get a big kick out of it. The wolf (“Alpha”) is a beautiful creature and easily outperforms the main actor. Still, across all this, it’s a touching coming-of-age story of a boy who reaches manhood on his own terms and through his own struggles rather than follow the path before him.
